CyBeRev

The CyBeRev project is part of a multi-decade experiment to test the comparability of single person actual human consciousness with a digital representation of the same person created by personality software that draws upon a database comprised of the original person's digitized interactions, as assessed by expert psychological review. The purpose of the CyBeRev project is to preserve sufficient digital information about a person so that, should the experiment validate the comparability of such consciousnesses, recovery of the digitized personality will remain possible. Terasem Movement believes that future technology will enable full recovery of functionality for CyBeRev people in this manner.

The key to achieving that goal, and the purpose of that website, is for participants to store digital versions of their mannerisms, personality, recollections, feelings, beliefs, attitudes and values with as great a fidelity as is possible. Participants can store digital reflections in a variety of formats, including: photos, videos, text documents, audio recordings, lists, and take extensive personality tests.

Participants can choose to share some or all of their information with others through the Visit feature of the project, which allows downloads and chatbot interaction with the mindfile.

Please read this IJMC paper Terasem Mind Uploading Experiment for a more detailed description of this experiment.

Spacecasting

Spacecast

What is a Spacecast?

Spacecasting is an optional feature available to participants in the CyBeRev project (see above) through which their bemes are transmitted to the stars. Bemes are fundamental, transmissible, mutate-able units of beingness very much in the spirit of memes. While memes are culturally transmissible elements that have common cultural meanings, bemes are highly individual elements of personality, mannerisms, feelings, recollections, beliefs, values, and attitudes.

Why Spacecast?

Spacecasting helps to preserve humanity from extinction. Our galaxy is a dangerous place. One possible answer to the Fermi Paradox of “where are all the ETs” is that cosmic natural disasters have thus far killed life off before it can spread galaxy-wide. Disasters include Gamma Ray Bursts, Supernovas, Magnetostar Eruptions, Extreme Solar Events and Asteroidal Impacts.

By spacecasting your bemes you will achieve a level of immortality, and so will humanity. The immortality will be only theoretical if the galaxy is and always remains devoid of technological life. But if there is now or in the future advanced life, then our spacecast signal has a chance of being decoded from the background cosmic noise like a cellphone’s CDMA (spread spectrum) signal is captured out of random electromagnetic noise. Once our spacecast signal is decoded, your bemes can be interpreted and you can be recreated from those bemes – much like a police sketch artist creates a realistic photo from a few clues.

Biocyberethics: should we stop a company from unplugging an intelligent computer?

Attorney Dr. Martine Rothblatt filed a motion for a preliminary injunction to prevent a corporation from disconnecting an intelligent computer in a mock trial at the International Bar Association conference in San Francisco, Sept. 16, 2003. The issue could arise in a real court within the next few decades, as computers achieve or exceed the information processing capability of the human mind and the boundary between human and machine becomes increasingly blurred.

Personality MD

Create a detailed profile of your personality, analyze it and find other like-minded people. Based on CyBeRev's Bainbridge modules, this Android app provides you with unique analyses of your personality, traits, emotions and even your optimism or pessimism. It is simple to use, providing a distinctive two-dimensional response scale - allowing for great self-expression and resulting in an evaluation truly unique to you. You can see how your personality traits compare to those of others and find people in your area who are on the same wavelength (or find out where in the world people on your wavelength are!)

Terasem Journals

The Terasem Journals include The Journal of Geoethical Nanotechnology and The Journal of Personal Cyberconsciousness .

The Journal of Geoethical Nanotechnology explores economic, political, social and technological aspects of the developing technology of molecular nanotechnology. The Journal invites submissions on controversial topics such as self-replication and governance.

The Journal of Personal Cyberconsciousness explores the mathematical, physical, engineering (hardware, software, firmware), philosophical, psychological, biological, socio- economic, and juridical aspects of non-flesh based consciousness, such as could arise from an advanced machine- based computer.

You can subscribe to the journals at no charge and receive newly published issues via email.

Mindfiles, Mindware & Mindclones

by Martine Rothblatt

One hundred questions answered about the coming age of our own cyberconsciousness and techno-immortality.

A mindfile is the sum of saved digital reflections about you. All of the stored emails, chats, texts, IMs and blogs that you write are part of your mindfile. All of the uploaded photos, slide shows and movies that involve you are part of your mindfile. Your search histories, clicked selections and online purchases, if saved, are part of your mindfile. Your digital life is your mindfile ...

The Singularity is Near

Terasem Motion InfoCulture,a division of Terasem Movement Inc., in partnership with Ray Kurzweil, has developed a film adaptation of The Singularity is Near .

The film is a full-length motion picture currently being shown at several film festivals. The film intertwines a fast-paced A-line documentary with a B-line narrative story.

The A-line documentary features Ray Kurzweil interacting with a panoply of thinkers on the impact of exponentially expanding technology on the nature of human life in the next half century. The cutting edge graphics and special effects are superb.

The B-line is the story of Ramona, Ray Kurzweil's female alter ego. starting with actual footage of Kurzweil creating and demonstrating his virtual creation at the 2001 TED conference. This presentation was the inspiration for the movie Simone.

Terasem Radio

At TerasemRadio.com you can listen to music and interviews related to immortality, transhumanism, cyberconsciousness, mind-uploading, and the singularity. Terasem Radio is an Internet and satellite radio station. Terasem Radio helps to educate people regarding the need for consciousness to complete God via artificial intelligence that is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient, but that is still intrinsically human. Music, conversations, commentary, poetry, meditation and yoga all have a good role to play in the Terasem Radio program.
